The original World Series of Poker dealt its first hand in 1969. The dealer behind the show was Tom Moore from San Antonio, Texas, and the place was an invitational event at Holiday Hotel and Casino in Reno. This inaugural event was won by legendary pokerplayer Crandell Addington who later managed to place himself in the top ten of the World Series of Poker Main Event eight times - a record that still stands!
