Well here we are, the first edition of Meet My Friends Monday. If you are planning to play along I hope to have a logo for you next weekend. You can place it in your post or on the sidebar or skip it altogether. It is totally up to you.
For those that are new and have not seen my posts about Meet My Friends Monday, it is basically where you introduce a blog you like to visit. I know that a lot of us have our blogrolls on our sidebars but I know for me I seldom click on other peoples. So this is a way to show off your blogging friends.
You can do it anyway you like, give a description, do an interview, however and whatever. So, if you are participating be sure to put your link into Mr. Linky so that I and others can check your friends out.
Now, I am starting at the top of my blogroll and going down so with out further ado, let me introduce you to Tammy.
This is Tammy from A Day To Share With Tammy. I think that Tammy and I "met" through Entrecard and I think that she left a comment on my blog. I try to always leave comments on those who leave me one. So, I went to check out her blog and I immediately knew that I would be back.
Tammy's posts always make me dig deep into myself and think about how my life is going and what I can do to make it better not just for me but for those around me as well. Tammy was gracious enough to answer a few questions for me this past week even though she was getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday and expecting guests.
Why do you blog?
I believe that blogging has the power to restore us to ourselves. A moment in time spent writing, thinking, reflecting, etc. can bring us back to our center and remind us of the wisdom that resides within us all the time. Below are just a couple of reasons I blog.
* First and foremost, I blog for my two children. I was once an avid scrapbooker that just ran out of time. One day I hope to see them sitting on their couches looking at the "old mom blog books" that I took complete pride in writing and putting together. They can envision me holding the camera snapping pictures and making memories.
*Accountability-Blogging causes me to think through much more of life more thoroughly. I have become a better mom because of blogging forces me to challenge my preconceptions and makes me think harder before I form opinions. I step back and look more deeply into what my children are saying to me. I listen. I grow along with them.
*Reflection-I write a great deal about an "old box" of papers that I collected after my grandmother passed away. Papers that belonged to her. I pull "things" from the box that take me places in my mind that I love to go. A sense of being in a time capsule. I write just as she did. I challenge myself to "slow down" to reflect.
*Community-I cannot say enough about this word. Blogging has meant I've met some talented, honest, strange, eccentric, humble, scared, alone, etc. people. I'm genuinely grateful for these opportunities that have enriched my life.

( Between my subscribers, readers, and commenters this was a tough one for me. My readers are my drive to write when I sometimes decide to become lazy.)
When asked who inspires you, who comes to mind?
My grandmother that remains forever in my heart and soul. Inspiration because she taught me that gaining a deeper sense of inner peace can only be discovered in the here and now. Today is the only place peace grows. In terms of the past, forgive to allow yourself to forget. The future is yet to be. The only thing you have to hold on to is today. Make each moment count. Grab those moments and create memories. Just love.
As you can see Tammy has a way with words. Do yourself a favor and drop in on her from time to time, I don't think you will disappointed!
